Blossburg Memorial Library

The Blossburg Memorial Library is a small public library in the heart of Blossburg that is a great place to spend time reading, learning, sharing, growing and playing. The library, which was defunct during World War II, was reformed in 1946 under the name Blossburg Memorial Library as a way to honor those who served in any way during that time. It continues to honor those living and deceased from the community. The library has free programs, activities, and events for people of all ages, as well as books, dvds, audiobooks, public computers, and many other resources for patrons. The library is a safe and fun place to spend time with friendly staff and volunteers. The welcoming children’s area encourages active play, as well as reading. Teens and tweens are welcome to enjoy time at the library after school playing games, using computers, and socializing with friends. Teens and Tweens are also invited to join CATCH (Community and Teens Combining Hearts), the library’s youth leadership group which strives to help make our community a better place for everybody.

Free adult programs offered at the library include Book Club held on the last Tuesday of each month at 6pm, Mahjong held each Wednesday at 12:30pm, and Senior Yoga, held several times a year on Tuesday mornings. Free youth programs include Story Hour in the spring and fall on Tuesday mornings, SummerQuest held in June and July on Tuesday mornings, along with many other special programs in the summer and seasonally through the year. The library hosts special events including concerts, seminars and Small Town Christmas, a day full of fun activities for the whole family on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Check the library’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/blosslib/ for details on all of their programs, activities and amenities.
